Funny you should mention yearly raises for inflation. Did you know that this raise (as big as it is) still lags inflation since the last raise. Yes, that extreme.
Seen in that light, you can sure ask for more.

Need to pay a lot of money.... Company has been making $$$$$$$ on the pilots time building back for a long, long time. It came to an abrupt halt.
If they home base, it will open a new door. 7 on 7 off, home based. I'm all in.

They won't be able to do that until they hire more pilots. 7 on 7 off would end up being 15-30 block a month on average. That may make it hard to attract pilots.

If "whatsright" got $1.80 per unit raise, that makes him a second year metro pilot. And other than a first year metro pilot, that about 10% pay raise is the lowest percentage increase of any aircraft or seniority level in the company.
BTW, what percentage was that $4/hr that was turned down? Your regional airlines pay isn't based on 160 hours per month. The pay structure at Ameriflight is different than airlines where pay is based on flight hours. So you can't really compare a $1.80/unit raise at AMF to a $4/hr raise at a regional airline.

The percentage that voted down the 4$/hr pay raise was 85%!
A big NO to the company, let's say.
Yes, it's true that you cannot compare AMF pay to the regional, in fact we can fly no more than 100 hrs a month but we can credit more, it's two different things.
Bottom line you can work less for more money.
As a matter of a fact when I left AMF to go for a regional at the first year i was making 4-500$ more per moths working less days, because of the per diem that is not paid at AMF but it's paid at regionals.

Just to refresh your memory
More and more? So far I have seen a couple. And given that most people that are happy with something (be it a pay raise or service at a restaurant) don't usually go out of their way to say something, that doesn't seem to be a big trend to me.
BTW, I have heard of at least one pilot who had given his notice to leave for a regional that has asked to retract that notice since this pay raise was announced. Doesn't sound like the terrible thing you seem to think this is.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how someone would put in so much effort to try to convince other people NOT to go to work somewhere.
Someone must have REALLY pi$$ed you off at AMF.
