What are the qualifications of "qualified" internal candidates versus those off the street?

Sometimes internals can go lower because the pilot is a known quantity. Just depends on the needs and who bids.

Anybody know anything as to the status of the PA-31 Upgrade Program at AMF? I'd been looking at trying to get into it once I hit 900 hours, but it looks on the website like there are no openings currently. Is AMF getting enough qualified applicants all of a sudden that they've done away with this program?

I haven't heard anything about it going away. Put your app in and contact recruiting.

@frmrbuffdrvr

We're slowing down the Upgrade program at the moment due to training resource shortage in the PA-31, with priority given to captains getting out on the line.

Have looked through previous pages and haven't found anything: is there any sort of training contract for pilots who meet 135? Likely base and equipment for a new hire?
