[quote=own nav;582150]The best way to get into turbine equipment lately is to be willing to move to CVG or Puerto Rico.

i thought puerto rico was REALLY senior with not much movement.

It may be, but it's also a hot spot for new FedEx routes. CVG is also due to new DHL and UPS business out of ILN and SDF. In either case, its a little harder to get pilots to transfer from other bases which are mostly in the western US.

even better when your DME takes a crap and you have to advise ATC you are /U and they have no idea what you are talking about.

it's becoming so bad that you have to tell them 3 or 4 times in a flight that you're a slant alpha when they continue to tell you "go here or go there"...

as long as you get an initial heading and in positive radar control then you can take a heading for JFK if they will let you.

The farthest I have ever heard an aircraft cleared, was when I was flying nights between BUR and OAK and as I was departing BUR and on LA Center's freq over Gorman VOR there would be an Aer Lingus flight and I heard,

"Shamrock XX, cleared direct Dublin"

Anyone know what the latest base vacancies are? They were advertising PDX and OAK, but now the job postings say OPEN DOMICILE again. Are they still looking for more Bro FOs in CVG with the increase of DHL business?

Any word of more new hire classes after April?
