what is the sim ride like on the interview? i dont have a date yet, but it looks like i will be interviewing in dallas
|
I interviewed in PDX about a month ago....But my sim ride was to depart North bend Oregon, using the North bend four Dep, then go Direct to the NDB that’s there, and then cleared for the ILS full procedure at North Bend, Published Missed, Do the hold. Then I was done. The ACP there talked about having me also do an Arching VOR App, but apparently forgot to have me do it or just liked what he saw. lol Good luck

I'd suggest you don't go there in person. As an intern at pt 135 operation I worked very closely with the pilot recruitment folks and we had a few people visit in person. Our pilot recruiters told me they don't prefer visits in person and that most the people who do are crazy. I'm not saying you're one of the crazies, but people who visit in person do have a bit of a stigma attached to them.
Since it seems like Ameriflight's HR department is pretty small I'm sure they're pretty busy, so periodic attempts to contact via email or phone will show them you're interested in the job but also respect their time at work and should pay off the best in the end. |

Thanks for your input. I was just wondering.
There's definite benefits to a personal visit like tbmpilot said, but there's also some possible downsides related to it. If you go about it the right way though I'm sure it could turn out well. I just urge you to be respectful of what appears to be a very overloaded woman working in HR. There's a definite fine line between showing genuine interest in working for the company and coming across as pushy. Just to let you know, I've never worked for Ameriflight so I'm not commenting on how they feel about the issue. Good luck with the job hunt! |
What kind of equipment do they fly, is there really anymore of an upgrade after the Metro? I have a good chance getting into the metro when I get back to the states cause I'm already typed but I really want to get into something where there's a chance to be upgraded into something else after a while.
