except they arent hiring SICs right now... they cancelled my interview and told me to wait til march - april or so when they start hiring them again. If you are PIC qualified you are a shoe in.

The SIC program has been around, on and off, since at least 2000. I have a hard time believing that that they are holding off on it right now. As far as I know we still need pilots badly. It might be because we have so many (SIC's) right now and that there literally isn't any more spots to fill.

I'll ask around

I'd like more info on the SIC program as well. I have 700TT and a few hours multi. CFII and working about 80 hours a month. I'm looking to interview in March. Any hope for me? I won't have the 500 x-c needed for PIC mins by then.

There's always hope. Remember that for the cross country time requirement that the 500 hours is any airport at any distance. So if you took off at your home airport and flew 10 miles and landed at another airport, that is considered cross country. Just keep updating your times and call once in awhile so they know you are interested. PM me if you have more questions.

It seems at the present time we are only letting SIC build their time in Baron and that the limit for how many SIC's that we will take on has been reached. There is some talk about letting SIC's build time in the Navajo, but there is also some pressure from flight management on recruitment to fill the training classes with PIC qualified applicants. The SIC program will not go away anytime soon, but there might be somewhat of a break to let some of the current SIC's move on.

They started a class today and I was told only one did not meet the 135 PIC minimums.

Maybe if Bill W. and Craig weren't leaders or hiring Airnet would have more 135 qualified PIC's and they wouldn't have to post on climbto350.

I had 2300 hours and previous 121 when I went for my interview and got a "Sorry" letter the next week. I thought the interview went well, but they didn't want me. Oh well, off to the next interview!
