Thanks for the replies. I only ask because the next FO class is for STL. I was curious if you could commute or if you would have to move. Anyways, appreciate it.

The Cost of Living out in the STL region is dirt cheap, which is a benefit for the guys since the line values are low, plus 2 of the 3 lines in each base have Sat & Sun off.

It's hardly above min guarantee, so I don't see why you'd bid one of these lines when there are open 4/3 schedules that credit 47+ hours. On the flip side, if you really don't want to work, there are available 4/5 lines (yes, 4 on/5 off) at the ALB outstations that pay min guarantee. Since people are only working slightly above min guarantee with these STL lines anyway, I'd much rather take the extra days off.

Now, if you're from the area it could be a great move. Not everyone wants the Rutland or Saranac Lake high time lines.
Some of us would rather see Spring sooner than early June

My MWA line just got bumped up to 41 hours, so it's not that bad. And as was mentioned, living out here is really cheap. I'm alone in a 3bdr, and I'm paying $600/month. If I get two other people here, the rent goes up to $750... still, $250/person/month? And cable/internet... Basic, HBO, Encore, Starz, HDTV package, DVR, On Demand, 15Mb high-speed... all for $84/mo. It's very cheap out here.

I'm not "making" as much, but I'm sure not spending as much either!
