Hey guys, I'm thinking of working for Cape air as a FO...but I want to make sure that this is the right move (because there's a contract involved). Are there any new FOs here who want to share their experience? What are some of the negative things about the airline? What are the best things? Would you recommend working at Cape Air? I would really appreciate any piece of information.
Thank you all.

Just surfing the board...I did not work for Cape, but flew 402s, if you actually like to fly and improve your stick and rudder skills this is a good move. Manual manipulation of an airplane is becoming very scarce. I put in 7 years or so in Boeing simulators, and a line check pilots for years, and the pilots with Cape background excelled.

Thank you, I agree with you that stick and rudder skills are slowly disappearing. Everyone's told me that cape air pilots have a great reputation. So I just might do it.

This may seem like a completely stupid question, and I apologize in advance if it is; but...

What is the pax cellphone policy at Cape Air?

IOW, is a pilot sitting there all day having his or her every move video-recorded by nine cellphones, or are the pax required to turn them off and/or stow them during flight?

TIA for any responses.

Tell a few jokes... sing a song... who knows... just may lead you on a new career path.

I have been wondering about SJU, from what I have read it seems to be a relatively junior station. I would think flying in the Caribbean would not be such a bad gig.

Junior? They only have PICs there, so you need your ATP...

Does any current cape air pilot know if the Tecnam transition already started?

& is it me or do current cape air pilots seem to never have anything negative to say about the airline?

Soon. FAA shut down slowed things.
