Training? Not sure for a direct entry captain, but initial FO training and qualification easily takes a couple months. So for a new FO, 2 months. Then PIC upgrade, maybe another month, then ATP maybe two weeks...

Tecnam? Could be any day now... That’s a guess. Not in the official loop, and if I were would be more discreet on a forum.

South Africa? Not that I’m aware of.

FYI, Cape Air has ordered the 1st All Electric Regional Airliner "Alice". 60% of the aircraft weight is batteries, 560NM range w/45 min reserve, 70 min recharge, half the operating cost of piston twins. 240Kts @ 10K. Be interesting to see who they hire to fly these when they arrive in a few years. I guess the bigger Regionals and Majors will have to make a new category to go along with piston, turboprop, and jet?

The journey to the Tecnam began over a decade ago, so “just” isn’t quite right...

Either way, just saying, I don’t think they are in the market for a 400 replacement, when there is already one in the works.

The article stated Cape Air has already gotten the first airframe delivered (as of 1Apr2019), and they will receive them over the next 10 years...

Default Very cool exterior and interior designs!

If I am early in my career and building time, put me down to fly this all-electric Alice airplane (check out this cool video):

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yyQaWEBGNxg

Looks like a very cool with innovative exterior and interior designs - like the pax seats, cool windows and, of course, the sidesticks up front. Not sure how I feel about the lithium ion batteries - better be surrounded by something “safe” like asbestos!!!!

Still, looks like a fun airplane to fly for someone building time for the regionals.... Here’s another article (previously posted) with an exterior view:

Default housing

I have a question for FOs or captains already based in BIL.

Any of you know where to find shared housing with other fellow pilots?
