I have a friend who failed a 121 course back in 05 not the check ride but didn't make it through the sim and airline has since gone away! Would the failure still show up on back ground check? He thinking of trying again for airline job. Refreshed on instruments of course

When I was there, first year I made good money but with a lot of OT. If not for the OT, I would have made about 40k. The nice thing about Cape Air is they are more than willing to let you work as much as you want within regulations, so a first year Capt that is hungry can make 60k with the right work ethic. Vacation time was 0 the first year when I was there.
