Default Piedmont Pilot Questions

Hey guys. I have a question for any current pilots at Piedmont. I'm curious what the current contract allows for days off per month? Is it mostly comparable to other regionals? Also what is life typically like for an LGA based pilot and would that be an easy spot to get out of training? I have heard that they mainly do out and backs from lga. If anybody could enlighten me on what Junior manning means I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any responses.

While on reserve you are guaranteed 10 days off per month. LGA would be real easy to get out of training. It is understaffed there and will probably continue to be. The flying there is mostly out and backs, but there have been a few more multi day trips added for next month. It is constantly changing. And Junior manning is going into work on your day off. You get 4 hours of pay for it, plus the hours that you fly that day. So it isn't that bad of a deal.

Well, it is a bad deal if it is mandatory and you had something planned that day. Sometimes I really don't care if they paid me 10 hours, I just don't want to be bothered. Oh and is it not considered JRA if they grab you at the end of a scheduled work day for a repo or another leg?

Kalyx- thanks. I did make it through. Did you reschedule the interview? If so let me know I will fill you in on how the sim/ interview went.

Metski- thanks for the reply. That doesn't sound so bad. How about when you are off reserve is it still 10 days a month off?

As far as I can see in the contract it is still 10 days off reserve. But looking at the f/o schedules this month seems like most guys have 11/12-15 days off a month.

They have to build the lines with a min of 10 days off. However most b/u and hard lines seem to have at least 11. If you're on reserve, they'll try to give you only 10 days a month, but if you know how to "work" the lines you bid, you can get yourself an extra day. I've had 11 days off a month since I started, and I've been on reserve the whole time. This month I have a b/u with 11 days. I haven't been junior manned while on reserve (knock on wood), but we'll see what happens now that I've got a b/u.

If they assign you additional flying at the end of the last day of your trip for a repo or just more flying, it's an extension. Extension pay is 2.5 hours over guarantee, or what you flew, whichever is greater. It only counts as a junior man if they extend you for more than 4 hours. Getting called out of the hotel early on the 2nd day of a 3 day doesn't qualify as an extension or jr. man.

I have a few questions as well...
I know trainees get paid full guarantee during training... is hotel provided also?
Do you get paid while deadheading? What are the rules like for commuters?
What is the uniform allowance (if any)?
Are Jepp chart (and maybe even binder) provided?
