Lots of “FO” open time next month. It’s crazy how we flip flopped in less than a year. This summer is gonna get real interesting. Probably going to see a ton of delays and cancellations.

And unfortunately AAG in standard fashion is way behind the ball on the coming problems.

Even if they stepped in now to throw money at the problems facing their WOs it likely is already too late to truly have a big effect on the summer flying. These things take months to shake out...

You can't go with seniority numbers.. instead you have to go by the sequence number when you run the report.

When I first joined the company my seniority numbers was in the high 300s and actually i was in 305ish...

So here's an update for everyone regarding the cancelled upgrade classes. I just flew with a pretty senior FO who was in the two cancelled classes.

He got a call from BF (not the company, but union BF) yeyesterday telling him they struck a deal. The company will send 5 upgrades to the April 8 class, but they have to waive their four (or is it five?) home study days. Instead, the FOs will fly the line right up until they go to class.

The FO I was flying with told BF no, that's not right, and I don't wanna do that. BF told the FO that if he says that, it will be considered a refusal and count as a training failure on his record. So the 5 FOs who are going are being FORCED to waive their contractually guaranteed home study days, under the threat of getting a black mark on their record. And BF was 100% backing the company up on this, at least from what my FO told me. How can they get away with that and how does BF even still hold a position in our union?

This is really unfortunate to hear, it sounds like Piedmont management and union leadership is really setting up FO candidates for failure... or to come out of training not as proficient due to lack of at home study days. No one should be FORCED and THREATENED by a training failure for an even they didn’t even attend. And being FORCED without proper study is a future safety hazard waiting to happen.

I misspoke somewhat, apparently the term out of BF's mouth was "training withdrawal", not "training failure." Still, a training withdrawal on your record for not waiving your contractual rights is shameful.
