It's a fact..
Time line of piedmont...
2016, pay rates increased... hiring starts again. Piedmont basically becomes the place to be.
2017, 145 deliveries accelerated and number of airframes increased from 32 to 60ish. Retention bonus program and dash retention program.
2018, company negotiates a no cost TA. No cost as in the TA did not cost the company anything other than making a standard cost of living adjustment. Pilot group votes it down due to concessions in duty, extension and jr man extension language. Training is handcuffed to deal with the amount of training, many instructors are forced to fly the line. Company announces that we are done growing. Flows increase to 6 per month as we are over 725 pilots on property. Spirit, frontier and jet blu all sign new contracts making the flow very unattractive. Cargo and legacy companies begin hiring.
2019, new hires fail to show. Frontier begins hiring piedmont employees to grow the phl base. March class has only 6 new hires. April new hire class canceled. Upgrade classes are suspended and delayed as the are not enough fo's to cover line flying. Company has begun offering triple premium to both captains and FO's tp cover flying. Cancellations have started due to lack of crew.

Hope we hear something soon. I mean, there shouldn’t be any reason we don’t match at least via percentage of raise that they got. Wonder what Envoy is doing?

A match won’t stop the bleeding. QOL has to be addressed. We are so woefully behind that matching PSA rates simply won’t do it. If I were a prospect and had to choose it would be a no brainer, PSA all day. They have better QOL and the pay, same bases.

True. However, some of these people are the ones still believing they’ll flow in 3-5 years if hired today. How many actually even know what QOL is here when they know forums like APC are a *****ing ground for all airlines? What they’ll see is “equal pay, faster upgrade and no reserve.” This will be sold over and over to them. I have no doubt we’ll get extra money like 2016. I also have no doubt we will be able to continue hiring again like then when we had the same QOL issues we do now.

When flow drops to 5/month it will be a 13 year flow for new hires...
Piedmont also has the lowest amount of applicants to AA (and other airlines it’s presumed) outside of the flow, so don’t expect outside attrition to decrease the flow times by too much.
