ummm, dang! So basically there is not much attrition? 6 years to get off of reserve as CA (even DEC) seems like a very long time. Are there a lot of folks hanging around for the flow or something? Seems crazy with the hiring going on at the majors and LCC's. Thanks for the heads up though.

Depends on how quickly everyone else upgrades and how much attrition we have and how soon those FOs hired before you hold a line as a CA. Minus the Covid years, it would have been 2 years or so since I got hired to holding a line. With it, it was 3.5 years. My guess? 3-4 years reserve until you can hold a line. Hope this helps.

Any DECs on here that can comment on life at PDT if you live in base? I realize DECs will be on rsv for quite some time and I am ok with that, just want to get an idea of what that schedule looks like for in base Captains. How many days in a row on rsv followed by how many days off? Ability to swap rsv days? How much are you being utilized? Is short call 2 hours or 90 min? Over all QOL. Thanks in advance for any insight.
