Doctors without borders doesn't get paid very well. Are they not professional?

Drs without borders is a temporary job done to fulfill a personal desire to volunteer.

From their own website "salaries are set so as to reflect the humanitarian spirit of volunteerism while recognizing the high level of professional expertise provided by field staff. "

Don't be a clown.

Drs. Without borders is not a professional choice for employment because their salary is incapable of paying Medical School student loans.

So if your daddy paid for your education you may be able to make the choice to work for nearly free. The other professionals around here need to get paid a salary commensurate with their experience.

Swing and a miss! The point is, a professional is not defined by how big his bank account is. What about DA or any in their staff? Compared to their collegues in big corporate law firms, they make pennies. Does that mean they shouldn't wear suits or follow the rules or be good lawyers, you know, professional?

I paid for my flight training out of pocket. I also hold a master's degree. While it is my opinion that pay should be higher, it doesn't mean that I get to be less professional because it isn't. I knowingly joined this career field knowing the pay issues. Stop blaming your misfortune on everyone else. My story is far more tragic and i have no sympathy for you.

I don't feel it as much about pay as it is treatment. Regionals vs Majors are worlds apart when it comes to being treated like a professional.

Bingo!! Either you are a professional not, and that is a decision that is made solely by you and nobody else. You may feel like you aren't being treated like a professional, and that is a valid point. However, just because you don't think you are being treated like a professional doesn't give an excuse to stop acting like one. Unless of course you are an immature child.

Not acting like a professional (like many people on this forum) is a perfectly valid reason (and in my opinion IS the reason) why regional pilots aren't treated like professionals in many ways.

The forum is used to vent. Don't read to much into a social site that people hide behind a made up name.

Fair enough, valid point. It still reflects badly on the profession in general. And I would be willing to bet that type to behavior and mind-set isn't completely isolated to these forums. That type of personality and mindset has a way of permeating into other aspects of a person's life, outside of the web.

1. Do you get a number? - You get a number when you start training at AA. You do not accrue AA seniority until you actually begin working there.
2. Is there a time limit? - The agreement is in place for 10 years.
3. Is this provided in writing? - Yes.
4. When will it or has it been signed? - The first 3 flows are leaving the first week of November to start at AA. The next 3 are in the first week of December.
5. % of new American pilots who will be from Piedmont? - 3 per month that AA hires pilots. Unlike PSA, Piedmont has a full flow-through. There is NO interview, NO medical test (other than FAA medical certificate.) When it is your turn, you get a class date at AA and show up for day 1 of training, no questions asked. If you fail initial training at AA, you return to your spot on the PDT seniority list.
6. Is Piedmont getting jets and how many? - This has not been announced yet. PDT is working with a consulting company to "bring regional jets to the Piedmont certificate." What type/how many we may or may not be getting has not been announced. All communications from the company so far indicate that we are getting something, but beyond that there are no details. Take that with a grain of salt.
7. How soon will they be online? - See above.
8. Any other pertinent information?
9. What happened to the Envoy/Eagle people who had a flow through number? - I don't know anything about Eagle and their flow, but I do know that they have a flow as well.

Actually one doesn't just "show up for class". A drug test and hearing test are required before actually transferring over to AA
