According to the PSA website, Tuesday we took possession of N534AE from Envoy. This brings our fleet count up to 117ish out of the planned 150 fleet. N534AE is our 28th CRJ 700. So I guess we have around 33 more CRJ 700 to yet take delivery from Envoy. That's a lot pilots we have to find!
CRJ 200 = 35
CRJ 900 = 54
CRJ 700 = 28
Total Fleet = 117 out of 150 planned
CRJ 200 = 35

How is PSAs flow structured? I've heard it's based on qualified captains vs total number of pilots on the seniority list but what is the current flow # and the wickets for increases in it? Do you have to be a CA to flow at PSA or can FOs flow as well like at the other WOs?

We are upgrading 25+ a month right now, and losing about 10-12 captains a month. So an approximate net gain of somewhere around 12-15 captains a month.
You can be an FO and still flow. Several already have.

Soooo is anybody else thinking we're going to have a captain shortage in 2-3 months?
I'm in the mid 600s on the seniority list and my first opportunity to upgrade was the end of March. The award that came out yesterday had guys in the mid 800s. So in just 2 months they've already gone through 200 pilots on the seniority list. Now some of those pilots were already Captains that got hired with previous 121 time, but I counted only about 50 of them. So if you subtract the guys/gals that were already captains that leaves 150 in 2 months. Let's call it 75 a month. They're upgrading about 25 a month so that means roughly 50 FOs are bypassing. At this rate in 2-3 months from now we're going to be getting into pilots hired in mid 2016 of which I highly doubt will have 1000 hours of 121 time.
I'm thinking either the company will have to change captain pay so it's actually worth sitting on reserve or start hiring DECs again. Although, I doubt they will get many applicants for DEC since this time around FO pay is almost as much as captain pay at most regionals. Unlike 2 years ago it's no longer worth coming in as a DEC and sitting on reserve for 2-4 years for barely more than you'd make as FO and having a line.
Just my opinion
