Are you base locked for a certain amount of time coming out of training?

No base or seat locks of any kind.

Few questions:

-How likely is it that PSA goes from SAP to PBS?
-Health coverage premium for family?
-How rough would commute from ATL to CLT be?
-Min day off as reserve?

Cheers!

After you check in, they have to use you within a certain amount of time (I think it is 8hours) or send you home for the day.

There is no requirement to check in at the airport. You might have been told that during training but that is incorrect. It's apparently a flight attendant requirement that scheduling is illegally assigning to pilots.

It looks like CVG R1 has increased about a week. It is still less than 3 months after class ends to hold a R1 line. 0.45 increasing to 0.50 is not much of an increase. That is an increase of 18 days.
Comparing DCA to CLT: Looks like holding a BU line out of training is faster in CLT than in DCA, and the times to hold an R1 are almost equal. Looks like the staffing in DCA must have stabilized?

Are there more flights going out of clt?
Are there more people going to cvg, thus less flying to go round meaning increased times?

I may be absolutely wrong in my guesses of contributing factors, so if anyone could please explain it to me on what's driven these changes.

And if I read it right, day is so shorthanded that pretty much the moment you show up on property you're BU?

R1 is Round 1, whch is a line award that includes the option to add and trade more freely creating more days off, or more credit, or sometimes both.

BU is a line that is composed of the trips that are available after R1 is completed. So once everyone senior to you is done cherry picking their trips they award a BU to you, but it offfers some flexibility and is preferred by most everyone over RSV.

Thanks for the explanation, it makes sense now.
