Ahh, the best part about flying for PSA is not having to fly for PSA. Enjoy your time off!

Airlines are a lot like golf.

The object of golf is to hit the ball as few times as possible. Those that do hit it the least make the most money.

In the airlines, the idea is to get paid as much as possible to fly as little as possible.

More Money - More Time Off

The same people that brag about sapping to 65 are secretly picking up all the open-time and bailing the company out every month. They think they are getting a good deal because their pickups are paid at a premium but they're not telling you that almost all the open-time is full of garbage low credit trips that are not worth picking up, even at a 150% premium. Don't SAP to 65 with plans to pick up later. SAP into a schedule you want and leave it alone. If you want a 65 hour schedule, get it and leave it. But if you want more credit, get it during the SAP and you will end up with better, higher credit/quality trips. SAPing to 65 with the intentions of picking up later in the month is dumb. Picking up a day or two is one thing, but more than that on a regular basis and you are part of the problem.

If had to guess, many SAP down to 65 and don't pick up anything. I enjoy my time away from work more than I do working. SAP is a great tool to accomplish that very thing.

Ok, i think there are 177 lines in CLT this month, not 277. I'm dumb. My apologies.

I hate to ask a flow question, but I feel obligated.

At the end of the day is there a difference in how many pilots American pulls from each WO?

What I mean is, this month's magical completely made up American hiring number is 30. Let's say they hire 15 off the street leaving 15 (5 that could be pulled from each WO.)

Is that how it would work, or is one WO favored more than another, so the split might be 6 envoy, 5 psa, 4 piedmont?

PSAs flow is increasing. Envoys is descending. Not sure really what is happening at PDT.

It is a guess at this point. No one knows what is going to happen in 6 years. This industry is changing so fast.

Our flow is about 6 years. So are the other 2 WO. It was designed that way.

Envoys is higher now so they can get rid of the top of their seniority list.

But if you pick up when critical (in beginning of month always) then it pays a minimum for 4 hours per day plus time and a half which is 6 hours min per day. Very worth it..i just picked up a 7 hour 3 day but with critical sdo paid me 18. But usually youre right, straight sdo pay for open time trips is garbage.

So Envoy's flow is decreasing over time, but will always be far higher than ours on a percentage basis, based on the current flow language. Same with PDT.

Agree that trying to predict out several years in the future is a gamble, but also should point out that my own math puts flow for a new hire around 7 years, not 6.
