Six or seven hours to see a big red "Denied" on an entire set of trades. That's the contractual "real time" processing for you...

The FO SAP is no exception to this. Seems that the company, in its gratitude for all the pilots did in going above and beyond during the meltdown, has decided to reward us.

But, that will never happen.

On another web board, someone made the point that one month ago PSA’s entire computer system repeatedly crashed and the I.T. people were able to restore the entire airline to pre-crash condition in only a few days.
Yet the ridiculously slow SAP processing times have been an on-going problem for YEARS,....... but PSA (and our feckless union) obviously have no intentions of making it work.
They’ve proven to us that they can make computers work,....... when they WANT to. Why would PSA want to get rid of the SAP when they can simply leave it ineffectual and still use it as a recruiting tool?

Same, my late evening requests processed at 5 am this morning. During the meltdown last month my last request didn't process for 15 hours and was denied, so since SAP was over no chance to try something else. Was told, sorry. Tried to understand since it was the meltdown.

This SAP disaster should serve as a warning to new hires. Please go somewhere else. There's much better options out there today.
Here is what PSA is now known for:
Low Pay, especially captain pay.
Worst reserve rules in the regional industry.
Worst work and QOL rules in the regional industry.
Non-voluntary double leg commuting to the outstations with forced upgrades.
Awful relationship between the line pilots and management.
Pathetic relationship between line pilots and the union.
Anyone want to add to the list?
The silver lining in this is that many will work that much harder to get the f out of this place as quickly as possible.

I’ve heard people say, “well the pilot group is a lot bigger now so that’s why SAP is taking longer and longer.” Well, captains and FOs SAP separately now and each of those groups are SMALLER than when both pilot groups SAPped at the same time back in 2015/2016 and I dont remember it EVER taking this long. Before it would “only” take 2-3 hours to process when SAP first opened, but trades would process almost immediately the last few hours of the SAP period. Now with each individual group being smaller than the both groups together in 2015/2016 it now takes 5-7 hours when it opens and 2-4 hours even when the SAP closes. In my opinion the SAP has only been about 50% effective the last 3-4 months. The argument that the pilot group is larger now creating longer processing times doesn’t hold water. The numbers don’t add up.
I used to think it was a conspiracy theory, but I’m starting to think the company is intentionally slowing the SAP in order for us to be more willing to get rid of it for lower pay rates.
Our one and only selling point for new hires was that we could make our schedules whatever we wanted, but now that is slowly becoming non existent also. Besides SAP we have nothing else to offer. The only thing that sets us apart now is outstation basing.
