Ya I think when I left DCA I was number 30 or 35 on the captain side. I guess I’m really just trying to decide who has the best crash pads. CLT seems like there’s some decent ones but to get some privacy it was like renting an apartment. I think PHL has some near the airport but it has rampers, gate agents, etc. that tend to make that “home.” Kinda like to sit around and b*tch about flying with other pilots rather than the awkward silence all day.
Hm I didn’t know that about PHL. I wonder how the Buchanan is doing in DCA. A month ago when I flew I heard there was a waitlist with no more movement from both PSA and Republic.

What do you mean by voluntary? There were a few I seen in the flica download that had their preference as to downgrade rather than sit reserve as CA. If you mean vacancy, the next move will most likely be next July when the system wide bid goes out.

But there are no vacancies in any base. Every base is chucking captains. So you can’t bid clt>phl unless you’re displaced.
(oh and you can’t make a lateral move in the future because there’s a long line of base rights displacees ahead of you)

It only took you twenty minutes to get across the ramp in Charlotte? That might be a record.

Well, we have to leave those as our number one choice in order to be assumed as an involuntary displacement. If you put CLT or DCA, then the company will assume otherwise. I believe the next bid that'll open each month so we can change our “standing bid” per the contract will require you to remove ORF/TYS to complete the bid.

Displaced CAs only get priority over upgrading FOs on a transfer of flying bid. This one will go straight seniority.
Also if any FOs get displaced and had been bypassing they can displace to CA if their seniority is senior to the most junior CA.

There are 8 CA vacancies in PHL. The 8 most senior people who desire CA PHL will be awarded it, including FOs if they have the seniority.
