Republic renewed their hiring bonus.

With the current rate of attrition they’ll need to continue filling classes through the end of the year and then some. This is all without flow even starting back up yet.

An airline hires for growth and attrition. PSA is not growing. So the answer to the question is not dependent upon attrition. It is attrition.

so the question is “How long will the entire top end of the industry be hiring?” Signs point to strong hiring until the next black swan.

Technical Interview

Has anyone gotten the technical interview without submitting the HR?

Yes. I did this last week. My interviewer asked if I had submitted HR and when I told them no, they just asked a few HR-type questions before starting the technical stuff.

Yes. I told my interviewer that I had not done an HR submission, and she asked a couple HR questions before proceeding with the technical. Total interview was 30 minutes.

What is going on now?

Effective yesterday the 23rd anything being out of date on your EFB not only means a failed line check but also now a Section 18 hearing and a permanent letter in your file.

Also, due to shear pin events from the nosewheel being left on they will now be pursuing disciplinary action (Section 18 and or termination) against the crew (CA & FO) along with the crew that left the nosewheel steering in the on position.

Yep. Instead of showing leadership, management is doubling down on fear and intimidation. Pilots are now taking pictures of flight deck switch positions as part of their post flight for fear of section 18. The union seems to be of the mindset that if you make a small mistake, you're on your own.

This is how toxic safety cultures are born. Hopefully they change tack before this place becomes dangerous.
