Are they more upset than pilots who have been there for years and didn’t get a new hire bonus?

Your advice is good, but as far as missing the bonus goes that's just luck of the draw really. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you get screwed, general rule of thumb though is seniority in the long run is more valuable than any bonus.

hasn't republics market shrunk? Is it still held in high regard these days as far as "regional rankings"

I reached out to HR and they told me the bonus is only being offered for July classes and after

I started indoc July 5. We all received an email yesterday that we would be receiving the 15k. So, my indoc class was the earliest class to get the bonus. All classes after July 5 indoc will also receive the bonus.

The people prior were the first ones to get a job after 15 months of chaos. Seems reasonable

Agreed. It definitely stings, but if you flow four months earlier you'll more than make it up in year two pay. Or it could even be the difference between future furlough or not...

"Republic (or any regional) is highly regarded" is synonymous to "HIV is highly regarded as an STD".
