US Airways cutting 1,000 jobs, shifting flying - Yahoo! Finance

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Struggling US Airways said Wednesday it will cut some 1,000 jobs next year, shift nearly all of its flying to its three hubs and Washington, and suspend several international routes.

The retrenching is aimed at putting its airplanes where the money is -- its hubs at Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Washington. US Airways said flying from its hubs has been profitable.
Once the changes are made early next year, 99 percent of its flying will be to or from those cities, up from 93 percent now. It's also keeping its US Airways Shuttle between Boston, New York, and Washington, although some of the Boston flying is shifting to its smaller Embraer 190 jets.

I'm guessing he's referring to this.

Psa pilots type "Psa airlines mec election" into YouTube. You might find it interesting.

Default Psa Recalls?

Would someone kindly post some details of the impending PSA recalls here? It would be greatly appreciated.

I emailed RH yesterday about the hiring pool. She said that they still have it but there are 52 pilots still on furlough. Didn't say anything about recalls in her email

If you haven't heard rumors of recalls then your not listening enough. There have been like 5 in the last few months (none have been true). Even one of plans of opening up the training dept for feb, due to increased block hours in march. But of course like anything else around here take it with a grain of salt, Hell take it with a whole salt shaker.

Hopefully they bring them all back. Time for PSA to take a few plays out of the AWAC, and Eagle playbook who is recalling all of their pilots

Weird man... I havent... I've been USED like crazy but never heard the rumor. Trust me I want it to happen. Also if it does happen I have a chance of getting into the training department and I would be ok with that for a few months to get off reserve.... I'd love for some of them to be true and get back into thing. But as of yesterday, when I spoke to a great buddy who does sim in CLT, he told me no such plans are in action... Again like Krunch said that could change tomorrow...

FYI JA you owe me a BEER! Bring you arse up and buy it! How you doing man?
