I'll be the first to say this is of course strictly rumor, no real source but....
With the USA/AA merger most likely being announced on Tuesday. Lets toss around the idea of the new company deciding to merge PSA and Eagle.
Eagle is obviously short staffed and not finding enough pilots to cover its want of 500 pilots this year. It just so happens that PSA has just over 500 pilots. I don't see any furloughs being needed at all. With people flowing to the new AA (either by the all ready in place flow agreements or a new one) they could even continue with the plan of parking 50 seat jets without the need to furlough anyone.
This may sound crazy but i feel like there has to be at lest one merger between the wholly owned regionals of the soon to be new AA.

If we are so short staffed why are we paying CAs and FOs to sit at home and do nothing but wait for training in July

BTW the only reason Mesa survived BK was MAG ALPA raising a stink over merging with Skywest and how many pilots they were willing to take.

I'm surprised that our MEC (PSA) hasn't reached out to the Eagle MEC. With the AA/ US merger imminent, you would think that they would want to map out a strategy. Currently, all ALPA US Express carriers have a committee where they meet to discuss issues and try to prevent whipsaw. I think it's important to get Eagle on board with this committee.
