ATC: Cactus, you ready?

whhhhhhhich has nothing to do with procedures......

Of course it does. Anything you do in a transport category airplane is a "procedure." If it wasn't we would all takeoff VFR and do whatever we want.

PSA = no weak pilots allowed. Who is that chuckie sounding pilot you guys have over there? He cracks me up.

Ok......

I'll try this then.

It has nothing to do with the procedures under the context we are discussing.

But yea.....Waiting for an ACARS printout is surely procedural.

I love when someone throws out the "transport category aircraft" card to make it sound more ominous. It's like when your mom used to say your full name, including middle, to let you know you were REALLY in for it.

He's allowed, he's in class isn't he? Can't help it if he's too weak to get through our average training program.

There is nothing complicated or confusing about the procedures, just different. Urge your friend to stop comparing previous carrier procedures, which bear no relevance at PSA whatsoever, and it should be smooth sailing. Also, the weight and balance is easy. It's a whiz wheel. How much simpler can it get?

Just curious…. sounds like PSA has not incorporated the use iPads yet? So are they still using whiz wheel and paper charts at this point?

Paper charts and ACARS w+b.

Yes to paper charts. The whiz wheel is during training only because the simulators do not incorporate ACARS.

"3 or 4 take off briefings before getting to runway", not! One Departure brief at gate before door is closed to confirm correct flight plan/runway and a take off brief at runway stating 5 important items, runway, altitude, fix, engine fail procedure, heading assigned.

As stated W&B acars unless deferred.
