The Useful PSA Thread

A new hub crew base and an outstation crew base seems to be the most popular rumor lately. I don't see how the hub base can't be Chicago. Nashville would make the junior Knoxville pilots happy since many of the senior captains who are still years from retirement are staying at PSA instead of going to a mainline carrier.

Out station crew bases do not need to be near any hub, they just need to have a lot of flights and overnighting aircraft to work. SDF/BNA/CVG are all central locations that could get flights from multiple AA hubs. RAH has a crew base in SDF and Mesa used to have one in BNA.

You do realize what we do now and what we will be doing in the next couple of years is going to change drastically? PSA isn't setting up a mx base in BNA for no reason, a lot of the 700s and even some of the new 900s will be overnighting there. TYS and DAY will grow as we start doing ORD/NYC/DFW out of those stations too.

From another forum:
"So I went for an interview at PSA and was told that due to their new street captain program and the backlog of FOs at different stages of training, they have suspended FO new hire classes indefinitely. They think it might be 2 months before they start training FOs again. Sounded like they weren't even going to be interviewing many FO candidates either. I got put into a hiring pool and they'll let me know when they're going to have another class. It was somewhat disappointing.
On a side note, the CP mentioned that managment is considering 3 potential cities for their new pilot base. Nashville, Louisville and Cincinnati. Said they'll announce the "winner" in August."

We don't really have a lot of RON in BNA...but I guess that could change. SDF would be interesting, we just began RON there.
Who knows.
