Do you have at least 1000 hours SIC 121 previously so you can upgrade immediately? Do you live in DAY, TYS, or CLT? Do you like abuse where your life belongs to the company 20 days a month? If you answered yes to any of these, welcome aboard. If not, you have way more options with better QOL and career prospects and coming here will do more harm than good. As in you'll have ZERO chance if ever going to American unless you're <23 years old and can wait 15+ years.

This regime is, I dare say, worse than the last. It was evidenced the minute they rehired JS back from PDT after MZ got rid of him years ago. The guy is an idiot and I can't for the life of me figure out why he's here when he can't possibly do anything except push a button to make lines once a month.

Until he goes and the open war with pilots changes, people coming here are just committing career suicide unless they are immediately upgrading from another dying carrier or are just trying to regain currency and leaving immediately.

It's too bad there isn't a group or organization that we could join to deal with these types of problems.

Believe it or not there's only so much that can be done quickly against an openly hostile management group that truly believes the "fly it and grieve it" mentality to get what they want. Union or not.

You say that with a lot of antithesis but you are far more correct than you know. It is what it is. It is what is being offered. No more no less. You can take the job or not take the job.

Bottom line, do you want to build PIC time in airplanes with a max gross weight of 85,000 pounds from the moment you walk through the door (if qualified) or do you want flow throughs elsewhere? It's a great choice to have given the existence of regionals to being with.

Whether PSA has to make changes and compete, that may or may not happen. You can't stomp your feet and wish something into existence. Nobodies twisting your arm to come here or stay. Do what makes you happy and is in yours and your families best interests. You know PSA will go right along with or without you at least while there are still pilots to be found.

That's why alpa should be dumped. Force regionals to deal with pilots on an individual basis day in and day out. Unions at this level are nothing more than the companies own personal police department for the pilots, keep them fools inline.

Run fast away from this place. My buddy got hired in April and passed his checkride this morning. Slated for IOE in November. If you want quick 121 experience go anywhere but here.

But look at all that time he had available to travel Europe, Asia, and/or South America. Once in a lifetime opportunity for extended travel all while being paid.

It's what you make of it.

Actually not true. The new hires are on call with some scheduled to go to sim/start IOE on 2 days notice any day of the week. This is fact. So the ability to travel isn't really there without A LOT of risk. It's a lot like house arrest.

I was told by HR that the training footprint was 10 weeks, but could possibly take 3 months due to breaks in training events.
Anyone know if this is the "current" timeline? Was hoping maybe the backlog had been cleared since they slowed down FO hiring over the summer months.

Well I started in May passed my PC two and half weeks ago. And should start IOE before October.

And I have had a two week lead time on all my training events from the company. Not quite house arrest imo
