In a few days it will be July and you haven't completed IOE yet?And you started in January? Wow, no wonder they have so many washouts.I don't work for Psa, nor am I a fan of ,nor do I have any ill will towards any Psa guy,I think that's childish ,but Dam psa ,whats the deal with that ?I've heard of training delays and backlogs but 6 months ?
You could go get another job and make it through training in 6 months while still being paid your min guarantee from Psa lol lol.
Don't do that by all means lol ,but 6months is a long time

I believe only one person from the Jan 5th class hasn't started and that is because the person got sick prior to sims and had to take some time off.

I didn't know anyone from the January 5th class hadn't made it to IOE yet. Most of us are finished or almost finished with 200 OE. I ran into a February hire on IOE the other day, so they are moving through the new hires quicker at least.

Know that the majority of the pilots on property do not want DEC's. DEC's are a band-aid that is preventing the company from actually fixing the problems. Do not expect people to greet you warmly if you take a DEC slot.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are currently first officers that are "holding the line" and not upgrading because the company refuses to uphold the reserve rules that PSA has. You are sabotaging their efforts.

I spend quite a bit of time on PSA's jump seats and talk to them about this. They all seem to say the same thing. Of the couple dozen crews I have flown with on my way to work or back home, no one said that they agreed with the DEC's being hired.

Expect to be treated as such by the people that you are working with.

Half true. No one wants DECs at all, company or pilots. We did everything we could to prevent it but with some many FOs bypassing we have no choice. That being said, no one that comes over as a DEC will be treated poorly by other pilots. Of course you'll have the few arrogant FOs (just like any airline) who feel entitled to everything thinking it's their show because they are more senior, but in the end who is wearing 4 bars? Everyone understand you came for opportunity, and I don't see anyone being greatly poorly for that here at all. Do know tho, due to you being super junior, plan on moving to CLT cause you will be on reserve for a lonngggggf time. And commuting reserve succkkkkssss.

Nonsense. DECs are welcome here. Is it ideal of course not but there will be enough movement here for a long time nobody is getting shut out.

You either have the time to upgrade or not. We've got FO's not even out of FO IOE upgrading right now too.

With DEC's filling all of the left seats, what motivation does the company have to fix the issues (not sure what they all are, but I have heard about several of them) and to live up to the contract?

From what I have heard, you guys are in arbitration about 3-4 things right now, and have grievances filed on a couple dozen more things right now. The company is walking all over you, and the FO's not upgrading even though they have the time is hurting the company. Instead of fixing the problems, the company is hiring DEC's. Why would anyone support this?

Lol, there were 7 decs hired out of 1250 pilots. They haven't even started captain class yet for another 2 weeks. Take it easy over there
