"guaranteed interview with psa airlines prior to starting program and if successful, a conditional offer of employment with psa airlines contingent on finishing eagle jet international's program"

"Eagle Jet International is proud to announce that on September 10, 2013, we entered into an alliance and agreement to form a training and conditional offer of employment program with Republic Airways Holdings Inc."

My heavens, that's nauseating. This company and others like it are the bane of professional pilot development, and the pilot profession as a whole. Shearing sheep is all they are capable of.

Technical difference--PSA's name is smeared all over the site, and you have to actually go dig for the Republic page.

Also, it says Republic won't interview/provide a conditional job offer until you've completed 200 hours in their program--PSA's says they'll give you the interview/CJO before even starting.

So, technically, PSA's pay-to-play program has lower standards than Republic's. Just sayin'

I just find it nauseating any airline would affiliate itself with a company that sells FO jobs on 737s/Airbuses/ATRs.

Agreed. This is embarrassing.

I know that a few years ago, almost everyone that did this was a foreign pilot, and airlines paid for the training. The majority were KAL. The airline paid for all of their flight training, and then put them in the right seat of a turboprop for 1200 hours. The students were paid when they were in the program, and flew Metros for Ameriflight.

On a side note, I did meet Rick (the owner of Eagle Jet) several years ago. He is quite certainly a shady person. He embodies what is wrong with aviation in this country.

I do agree, but I doubt PSA really knows much about this. Rick Gabor, the owner of EagleJet, is a scumbag (am I allowed to use the word scumbag on here?). His main sell used to be that you would get a direct flow to Republic, and was just like what he is saying about PSA.

Here is the question, though: If someone has 1000 hours SIC in a turboprop while flying part 135, wouldn't you imagine that they would get an interview with any of the regionals anyways? Ameriflight has an opspec requiring a SIC in their equipment, so the FO can log the time as SIC. (This has been covered ad nauseam on JetCareers).

This is without a doubt the most confusing website I have ever visited. *** is this?

It goes on and on about how your going to get an interview with PSA/Republic before entering the program, but *** IS THE PROGRAM!? Seriously what the hell are you going to be flying here?

They talk about starting class, but what are you doing there? Are the Airline Pathway guys getting typed in RJs and getting sent off to Mexico an Chinca for a few months?

They talk about flying light piston all the way through heavy jet? Huh?

Maybe its just me, but if your going to have a program explain *** it is. Even the FAQs come nowhere close to answering my questions.

For the record I am already at a regional, I just think its ironic some major flight training institution has such an awful explanation of what any of their products/services offer.

If they're in the program that long, that might be the only interview they'll get, because the real question is if you're truly worth a pilot job, why didn't Amerflight hire you at 1200 hours? Then you could get paid to fly the last 300, and then have your choice of any regional you want or make over 50K a year in a type rated plane.

I don't see what's wrong with this program? You will basically become a restricted ATP at minimum when going to PSA. As for taking someone's job at Ameriflight, anyone can go there anytime they want regardless of this program.

When I was at AMF, I met many people in this program. Almost all of them were Korean. They would come to AMF with 250 hours and get type rated in a Metro or a 1900. They would sit in the right seat and log SIC time. Some were pretty good, and a really big help. Others were terrible and told not to touch anything. The 1900 and Metro are technically single pilot airplanes (most of the time), but AMF had some sort of ruling from the FAA to allow the FO to log time if there was one on the flight.

AMF does have a few paid FO's on the Brasilia, but that is it for guys with less than 1200 hours. Everyone else had to have 1200 hours to get a job. The vast majority of these guys were not authorized to work in the US, but instead were paid by their sponsor airline to be in this program.

These guys DO NOT take jobs from other pilots. If they were not paying money to be in those seats, then those seats would be empty. On the other hand, I would imagine that in the past several years that this program has been going on, the FO's have helped the Captains several times with callouts or altitude deviations or other such things that could have prevented an accident or a violation.
