Considering Frontier?

Remember, US airlines specifically screen their pilot candidates for the "right stuff" to complete training in the allotted time of just a few weeks, with no extra training costs. That's far different from overseas where some new-hire programs take 12 months, and most are probably at least six months.

They are also cancelling pilot vacations in August. Frontier is a toxic environment right now! Management’s new strategy is to set the operation up to implode then blame and discipline the pilots.
The contract is nowhere in sight and we’ve been abandoned by the NMB.
Considering how much money most people will spend on their hotel in training coupled with the pay cut, and commuting to reserve for over a year, it’s cheaper to buy your own Airbus type rating if that’s what you're after.

Bumping the thread for an update. I don’t know how many times we gotta inform people of this place. Apparently of the 5 people to waste their money and time to show up for the interview last Thursday all 5 were sent packing. Best thing to happen to you guys. Trust me. This place is imploding! You dodged a bullet. Save your money and don’t waste your time. Use these assets to pursue an airline that might actually give a darn that you might be interested. Frontier may be the only airline in the world not trying to improve their contract to attract pilots. That should speak volumes to anyone who respects themselves and this profession. GFY if all you have to say is “if it’s so bad why are you there” BS. I think everyone here including me, has their apps out. You’ve been informed, make good choices!

You’re not gaming the system by coming to Frontier! Everyone sees this now. In this hiring boom, why would you even bother to consider a place that could only get 5 people to show up. The problem is pilots in general are forward thinking people. This management team preys on this. The fact that you are willing to sacrifice early to benefit later is their weapon against you! Don’t be fooled by the key words and phrases that perk up every pilots ears. Growth, fast upgrade, new contract, new bases. For a Major airline to have to use these gimmicks to lure potential victims is evidence enough that this place is bad news. The regionals are playing this game, not the majors. Except the regionals also bring cash. Seriously though, are you going to want to spend a lot of time and effort trying to get hired by this train wreck, just to get here, realize that EVERYONE was right, and then pick yourself up and start trying to get hired somewhere better all while commuting to reserve. Think about that very carefully. Buyers’ remorse is a B!t€#! ...Ask me how I know.

I know it's getting really bad but this is the age old argument with this industry. You have people at places like Gojet and Mesa and the lot of most of the regionals who are not hearing from anyone better who see Frontier as a step up. I don't think you could ever get people to stop applying. As long as there are people stuck in worse positions this system will continue to perpetuate itself.

I know someone, really more of an FB friend, that just signed on here and they are all excited. I feel like telling her to do some research before making such a huge choice. She did say training was good and is excited to be flying.
Seems odd to me though.
