The problem with that airport is that when 9E goes in at night, it's usually when the tower is closed, and we're the only plane that comes in that late at night. The field condition could be hours old. I'm sure some of you have seen those nasty MI snow blowing from the south, and make the landing 28/10 a ***** at best...

be safe out there...

Long enough in good weather, but in bad. The Crj 200 comes in FAST, the TR (Thrust Reversers) suck, and the brakes are fair at best. Not a good snow plane. The CRJ700 much better

TVC is always a ***** to land on, especially when you got a snow storm, low vis, tower closed, plus a good x-wind...
When isn't it difficult in those conditions?

I know this stuff happens but bottom line; chances are much higher with 200 hour FOs and Captains with no PIC (waivered ATP mins) time before the CRJ.

Remember MKE a couple years ago with Pinnacle? At leased they couldn't taxi through the ditch and to the gate afterward since the gear may have came off.

Glad no one was hurt.

As Flaps50 said, they have.

At MKE they went off the runway, through a snowbank, and ended up on a taxiway. From there they taxiied the wounded airplane to the gate.

man, now how did i know someone was going to say this??? you don't even know the people flying the plane.. we have fo's here who have been around for almost 15 years, and captains even longer. so before you go off on your 200 hour fo rant, maybe you need to sit back and think before you speak. i could blame anything on "low time fo's"...

Yeah and I heard a rumor that the Captain of that MKE accident just put a writeup in the book and left the scene never to be heard from again. A little while later Pinnacle took off from the wrong runway (Small GA RWY) at LSE and nearly killed everyone.

What's with that place?

Flame away...

1. that is not true. he was actually talking to maint. control, they had him do a visual inspection, and then told him to go ahead and taxi to the gate.

2. never heard about the LSE thing.. doesn't mean it didn't happen but you think there would have been a bigger deal made, and an ntsb report.

3. probably the same thing that is wrong with fed ex crashing in mem all the time and slowing down the operations at the airport,, i have been here almost 2 years and have seen 2 fed ex planes close the runways...must be the low time fo's???

ps,, you gotta watch the side loads on those md 11... apparently they cant handle it!!
