I'm approaching 250 hours myself and I can't even imagine trying to fly a jet... I mean I could probably throw a gear and push some buttons but my knowledge and experience is so lacking... God forbid anything goes wrong

I’m not saying it can’t be done. It obviously has been. If you instruct currently or plan to, it is invaluable experience. So many people minimize it as just bouncing around the traffic pattern. I think those people took it for granted and have difficulty learning from life’s experiences in general.

That's my plan. I've always enjoyed tutoring and seeing light bulbs go off in people's head so I figured Cfi would be the best way to get to atp mins

No.

zero to 250hours multi comm can be done in like 4 months. It's almost a joke. They would turn out wonder kids so fast your head would spin. Literally give ppl solo students a class date.

The jobs I had before aviation truly sucked, I'd crawl back to Mesa with bloody elbows and knees long before doig any of those jobs. Stay in aviation long enough, you should find yourself making good money.

4 months? I’ve never heard of anything that fast, that’s crazy. If nearly everyone leaves at 250 hours then how do you account for a lack of CFIs?

It's been done. If you don't get CFI tickets.

If you have a big budget, good weather, and a lot of airplanes and instructors you could definitely do it.

Back in the early 2000s ATP Flight School zero to hero with all CFIs in 120 days. If you had a Private Certificate coming in it was 90 days. It can definitely be done if the program is structured properly. I’m not saying it’s the safest way but it can be done. I remember people being hired at regionals that were flying the line 6 months after their first training flight in a piston.

With all that said I don’t things will ever be that way again unless it’s a program like the European airlines do.
