Not a pilot, but I've seen this FA on YouTube, who goes by flywithstella. I wonder how Van drivers feel about a person like her. Screaming on top of her lungs at 4:00 am in the van. What a hassle the rest of the crew has

Its a general understanding that if the sun isnt up yet, you need to stay quiet in the crew van lol. This typically works, but there is the occasional one off that violates the status quo. Even still, I would rather have someone happy and chatty than quiet and angry.

Just think how much you’d have if you invested that $100 instead of tipping it. You’ve missed out on years of compound interest in your favor. I hope come retirement age, you will not have to get a part-time job.

Well that's the beauty of it, that $100 is not income so no need to invest it. It is part of my per diem which my company provides to cover expenses while on the road. You may want to check to see if your company provides per diem.

I'll be perfectly fine during retirement tyvm. Have fun taking all that money to the grave with you.

See this is where your thinking goes wrong.
Tipping is not an “expense”, it’s a gift.

A gratuity (normally called a tip) is a sum of money customarily given by a client or customer to certain service sector workers for the service they have performed, in addition to the basic price of the service.
Then we have this:
However, studies of the practice in America suggest that tipping is often discriminatory or arbitrary: workers receive different levels of gratuity based on factors such as age, sex, race, hair color and even breast size, and the size of the gratuity is found to be only very weakly related to the quality of service.
