Some nice first level thinking there. If you are going to do that then make sure to raise that rate back up factoring the additional days off per month that pilot gets over a normal 40 hour a week worker (most people work 50 - 60 hours so that is being generous).

Also please point on the doll where the Republic pilot hurt you.

Right. Times that per each employee and they will cash their last paycheck as the business closes up shop. The mom and pop shops will end in many cases across the country.

You guys forget that the hotels DO NOT like flight crews as guests, especially FA’s. Since the hotels housing crews are doing it for the cheapest, they treat us as such since they know we’re probably not going to stay elsewhere.

This has been my experience with the van drivers as well. They could care less about us. I always can hear them whispering under their breath about us. They make fun of us while driving to the hotel. It’s subtle, but I can see it.

Company rates are hardly the cheapest rates staying at the hotel on any given night. The only time the average customer is paying more than company rates for the hotel is during holidays and maybe a busy weekend or two. That's why the contract is there, so rates stay the same and predictable all year for that airline. Pilots thinking that is just a way for hotels to get rid of "extra rooms" is wrong. It works for both parties, we keep the hotels filled during slow periods for them and they block off rooms for us when it is busy.

That mumbling you think you heard is nothing but you projecting your own self image.

Not to mention hotels love us now. Can’t count how many “thank you for staying here” comments I have gotten since COVID.

I kinda don’t doubt that has been YOUR experience so far. Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s “flight crews” they’re talking about. It’s kinda just people like you.

Highly recommend you don’t mention any of this when you show up for your next medical.

After some thinking, I think only a handful of the drivers are like that. It seems the people who hate us more are the front desk people. It seems they don’t like us and make it like a big deal we’re there.
