If you were to make a comment about it out loud, then we’re going to have a problem. Flights would be checklists and briefs only kind of deal.
I get the feeling that is what most people who fly with you prefer any way.

So I still stand by my post. It’s customary to tip someone who is throwing your bags and driving you to and from your hotel the same as it’s customary to tip the person cutting your hair or pouring your beers... now if the van driver is unsafe or is rude or whatever then sure, adjust accordingly. But if it’s just about you being the “I’m not tipping the van driver because I disagree with it” kind of guy/gal and that’s the hill you want to make your stand on so be it, but I’ll be the first to make a joking comment on your lack of generosity and offer to tip for you and judge you as cheap and out of touch. If you can’t afford to give the van driver a dollar tip for putting your bags into and taking them out of the vehicle then maybe it isn’t the van drivers problem and more of your own.
Make all the comments you want, I will remind you that my family and I did not hire you be our personal financial advisor also and we will leave at that.

I agree. That post seemed sincere but damn, that was cringeworthy.

I’d probably ask you if you had run out of cash while handing you a few dollars so you could tip the van drivers like a respectable adult. Or just tip for you.

If you’re legitimately broke and can’t afford the few dollars a trip to tip the van driver then I won’t judge. Hell I’d probably offer to give you the money to tip after I saw you weren’t tipping. But if you’re constantly grabbing a Starbucks between legs and drinking beers on overnights while neglecting the customary $1-$2 van driver tip I’ll automatically think you’re a narcissistic out of touch DB and may make some friendly joking comments about it.

Aspbergers in of itself is not disqualifying from holding an FAA medical. So that alone doesn't keep people from flying.

Military kind of cares, but waivers get granted.

My callsign isn't Sheldon for nothing.

I used to bring a Zip-Lock bag of loose change with me on trips that I’d use to buy coffee. They’d tell me how much and I’d get my little baggie out and start counting. I distinctly remember a look of disgust from several customers waiting in line behind me.

No, I don’t like to be “that guy”. It really didn’t take any longer for me to pay in coins than it would for someone to pay with a card. I just like to allocate my change to coffee and snack purchases.

Kind of reminds me how my dad would tie a knot in his shoe laces when they broke. Could not afford to buy new and change them out. After he had so many the ends were too short he could no longer tie them, he bought new.
