Thats true. The scope clause prohibits any further aircraft deliveries until NWA starts getting new aircraft. (Net increase not replacements)

If a CRJ200 flight is full, is the jumpseat always available or does it have weight and balance issues? Thanks..

Usually depends on the time of year...when winter weights are used, its harder to get on. During the summer, its a bit easier, but not much. Ballasts are usually needed to move the CG more rearward.

If NWA merged Compass (stapled the pilot list) into NWA, would Compass Aircraft become "mainline aircraft ?" If so, could Mesaba, under the 90 aircraft "Upper Cap," acquire fifty four additional additional CRJ900/1000 aircraft and operate 90 of them with the 76 seat restriction until the scope is changed ?

Under the NWA (and Delta) contract, no regional can operate the CRJ1000 - even if it is configured to 1 seat.

I guess I'm reading the wrong document. Searched
2006 NWA Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement
http://airlinepilotcentral.com/optio...Itemid,85.html and couldn't find a single reference to CRJ1000.

Is this your speculation or have you any info that suggests that Compass will be merged with NWA? I do not see that happening when leaving it status quo would be beneficial for the NWA management.

I believe that is incorrect. My understanding is that DAL has no scope clause with Comair that restricts them to 76 seats so theoretically Comair can fly CRJ1000. Now I am not saying this is good in any way. I already fly CRJ900 and I think it is stretched enough as it is. My opinion is that anything bigger than this belongs in the mainline. NWA rep at the NWA/DAL joint merger presentation said NWA/DAL is looking for a 100 seat replacement for DC9s and MD80s but that they are not yet available at a reasonable price. The underlying tone was that these 100 seat jets when they become available will be flown by mainline pilots at mainline payrate.
