I had them tell me that about swapping reserve days once. This month they did it almost instantly even though the swap is at the end of the month. Kind of funny how you can get different answers about that stuff sometimes so maybe try again in a few days?

I forgot about that... yea they normally won't look at a complete drop til 48 prior because that's when they start assigning open flying to the reserves. If after doing that they have extra coverage still they will then drop your trip. If not you are stuck with it.

Plenty of Captains did ready reserve and YEARS of reserve. It's a normal part of staffing... remember that question on the interview that asked you if you were prepared for the job and its various attributes?

why is this an issue...don't understand why everyone says this...i know theres a lot of new people i didn't come into this job thinking i wasn't going to have to pay my dues, i know theres alot of people that have been through tough times...i've been fortunate...I'm just stating the obvious...no one likes ready reserve!

Yup, RR stinks, that's for sure. It doesn't matter if you've been here 10 years or 2 weeks, RR is a pure waste of any pilot's time. That's why our (lousy) management loves it sooooo much!

Hey, was curious if anyone has heard anything new since the letters were handed out and the pool was formed. I as well received it and just wondering if I should keep instructing to get my hours up or start looking elsewhere.
