I think HR management has said it best, the merger isn't complete yet, it's only an engagement... And looking at what has happened to a lot of engagements they can fall apart so i agree with people in saying wait and see instead of saying i heard that this person said that this person said from my cousin's father in management.

Depends on aircraft and base. I have personally sat reserve on the Saab in DTW as an FO since March and still bid close to 20 pilots deep in a reserve pool. Now with attrition and the new hires coming in hopefully there will be less ready reserve for those who have done it month after month. On this bid pack there are 61 FO lines including High Speeds and 23 reserve lines including build up and currently we have 84 FO's.

It's impossible to say how long you'd be a reserver right now. If/when this big annoucement comes out, we'll maybe have a better idea.

Well I have a little bit of an awkward story to be honest. I applied back in Aug...well maybe the end of July to be honest and hadnt heard much from them until two days ago...right after I had my tonsilectomy. The message that was left was for me to call them back and set something up like an interview but I dont think I will be able to talk for at least another 10 days due to the severity of my surgery. I have told one of my good friends who is in class right now to see if he can talk to them for me but as of right now my luck looks kind of bad.

Just thought I should vent that somewhere! D'OH! :-P

For those of you interviewing/getting hired, what class dates do they say they are trying to fill? Just trying to get an idea of how many classes they are for sure planning on having.

Are you not talking at all?
I know you are in discomfort but maybe you can find out when the last days of the interviews are and see if you can get one of those days.

Do communicate with them by email or have someone call for you to explain ths situation. On one hand you want them to know you will drag yourself in but you don't want to give the wrong impression either. These situations come up they will understand.

If you do get one of the last interviews, make sure you speak not at all until you get to the handshake.

I had a similar situation with a different company. I was called about 15 minutes after I got home from same day knee surgery. I couldn't walk and I was high on something. I did get that job eventually but not when I really wanted it.

Mesaba is a different company and well worth the wait.

Good Luck,

Good Luck,

Thanks a ton for the quick reply!

Right now I actually cannot open my mouth since my tongue is so swollen...no worries though. I'll be in a better health position once this is all over and no pain = no gain right?

I just asked my mother if she could call them for me on Monday to see if there was some way to set up an interview. Hopefully I'm getting myself worked up over nothing.

I have heard so many great things about XJ and am excited to get the chance to interview with you guys!

Thanks a lot!

There will be interviews every week for the foreseeable future. It's not the end of the world. Just get better, because you'll only have one shot to get the job, so you want to make a good impression. The folks at XJ are understanding and will work with you. Also for the foreseeable future there will be classes every 2 weeks. The next announced classes are 9/22 and 10/5 for all fleets.

how long after the interview does it take to get a response? they are saying 7-10 days but I hope it's less. I hate the waiting game.
