Dude - you're not even in class yet! Relax... see how things pan out once you get here. Don't count yourself out of MSP just yet. And stop worrying about all the rumors you keep posting about - especially this fictional animosity between XJ and OH pilots on the property.

Bored is right. You would be amazed at what can happen in a few months! Some good, some bad. Concentrate on things that you have control of and let those you don't fall into place. Most importantly, everyone needs to keep their heads in the cockpit and pay attention to detail. A lot of incidents today. It is shaping up to be a long, hard winter.

Thanks.... I guess that's the "new" payscale that is part of the contract that is amendable in Jan. 2009?

I am not sure what the problem is but that pay doesn't look right. Make sure you look at the restructuring LOA when looking at the payrates.

As a 5yr CRJ200 Capt the rate is $66.05. That's not what is shown so either I'm wrong or the posted stuff is.

The linked pay scale is NOT wrong. When I originally posted that several months ago, I copied and pasted directly from the LOA, DOS +2. I just posted a sampling of the years for CA's though. Also, the contract is not amendable in 2009. It WAS, but during bankruptcy the concessionary LOA took it out to 2012, with the fleet size we'll have. Beyond the amendable date however, there are raises until a new agreement is signed. That itself was unprecedented and amazing to achieve given the fact that we were fighting to preserve our contract.

I'll repost the pay scales here... this time the whole thing.

Thanks for the pay info.... I just don't see how people survive on the FO pay though?

It's a regional airline contract... are you really surprised at the pay scales for FOs? It doesn't make it right, but it is what it is. Should it be higher? Of course. Also... if you've been in the business for any amount of time, you should know that pay scales do not define a contract.

Comparing Comair and Mesaba pay - starting pay at XJ is higher. Second year pay jumps significantly at Comair and marginally at Mesaba. As the years go by the scale at Mesaba starts to catch up with Comair and when it tops out is within $2 for FOs. For captains on both planes, Mesaba has consistently higher pay for both fleets. Again... it isn't the pay scales that make a contract. The whole package creates your pay.

So by "the whole package" you mean Mesaba's lack of full deadhead pay or any type of trip or duty rigs? Low pay + no rigs = letting yourself get taken advantage of.
