Our current 200's (except for 601 & 602) are just whipshaw tactics against 9E. Once their contract is signed I expect them to go back.

The SAABS are a cash cow with the EAS service. I don't see them going away in the next 6 years. In the mean time hunker down and save up for the tough times.

PS my investments are doing very well thank you. When I transition to a major it will take 4 years before the pay will equal what I make now. And QOL will take even longer. :0
If I am confused then the Director of Ops must be confused and you are the only one who apparently is not confused because Director of Ops is the one who told us that by September 2009 XJ will get a second CRJ900 sim in MSP.

I am not saying Saabs will go away. I've heard Saab is no longer the cash cow that it was due to fuel price. I was referring to a previous poster who claimed that he knows for a factr that XJ will shrink and IF, this is a BIG IF, DAL decides to shrink XJ, which I think is unlikely, they will carry their "right size fleet" concept into downsizing the number of Saabs and CRJ200s and replace them with CRJ900. However, I do not think XJ will shrink in size so you are right, Saabs will be around a lot longer than most people think because they serve small regional airports where jets cannot land safely.

I could be wrong on the 10 CRJ900 for ASA being based out of SLC. I should have said 5 CRJ900 for Mesaba will be based out of SLC.

A lot of airlines own simulators.

A lot of airlines have furloughed, and are furloughing.

Your thought process is similar to, well the airplanes have the same engines, they must be merging, or the airplanes both burn JET A...........

The sims, located in the Mesaba training Center, are owned by NWA (now Delta), maintained by Pan Am who also instructs other airline CRJ pilots. Mesaba instructors teach "their" pilots in the sims.

Relax, Bro. It's all for the fun of it. Besides, our predictions remain more positive for Pinnacle than your own predictions regarding 9e.

I agree about the 200's though I figure we won't bother operating 1 or 2 only like before, no need to with the 900's here.

The Saabs aren't the cash cow you think they are anymore. Maintenance is eating into that profit. Not to mention there are other more efficient related to seating turboprops available.
I'd guess the Saabs are gone around the end of 2011. That's when the leases are up and probably more importantly when our contracts (ALPA, AMFA, and AFA) are up for renegotiation. Now maybe they pull the same routine as 2003 and send 5 or so to Arizona til we sign like what happened with the Avros. OR maybe they just decide not to renew the leases and park the things give it a year then bring on a replacement similar to what happened with the bankruptcy scam.

My Roth IRA is down a bit, my 401K (greatly boosted by my bankruptcy claim) is actually up a small amount thanks to leaving the claim in the stable growth fund.
I may not be able to retire today but I have more than most others my age in my retirement accounts. Then again I plan to work about 25 more years so.....

And what airports would that be? Every airport I went to in the Saab could land (and many did) a CRJ and or ERJ. The Saab only airports in MI (APN, CIU, SAW, MKG) All have a runway at least a large as AZO and TVC. The thing with most Saab only airports is they can't support the seating capacity of a CRJ.

If you're talking about the 10 900s originally slated to go to XJ that were originally slated to go to Pinnacle after they were originally slated to go to Comair after they originally went to Freedom, then I'd say yes, this is indeed subject to another round of last minute changes.

They should make all their tail numbers a variant of this
