Don't worry they are just jealous that they don't work for a great airline like Mesaba.

I have heard similar figures on airframes to be allocated. Anyone have any idea when Delta will award these aircraft?

I don't think even Delta knows.

I just wish Delta would fly the 900's instead.... at least there would be some movement for a little while.

Well, they're setting up the lottery ball machine now to decide who gets them..There's a new drawing every week, and all the DCI carriers are represented. The airplanes will actually stay with a carrier when their ball comes up two weeks in a row!!!!

Does anyone know the actual size of the hiring pool? I'm assuming it contains the Jan 5, Feb 2, and March classes...I'm trying to figure out how many of us have a class date on ice for sometime in the next decade. Good luck to everyone else who is looking for work right now...to the guys on the inside right now: I sincerely hope you don't get furloughed.

There were 12 new hires originally slated to be in the Jan 5 class, I would suspect similar numbers in the other classes, my guess is there are about 40-50 of us treading water.

I sure hope it's 40-50 instead of more. I'm was picked up at the very end of the hirring spree for a March 30 class.

It's a good thing I stocked up with beer in my raft because I'm going to be floating in the big pond for some time .

Considering DAL is reducing capacity in '09 I really don't think the mainline fleet is going to grow. So the 120 76 seat a/c scope in the JPWA will prevent any of that.

Current(as of this spring) 76 seat operators for DAL
ASA - 10*
Commair - 13
Skywest - 19
Shuttle(RAH) - 8
Mesaba - 41*
Compass - 36
Pinnacle - 10
--------
137
17 need to go away or have seats pulled.

Nothing like useless rumors fabricated by 900 fo's

The Pinnacle numbers you quoted seem to be off, according to the Delta website: Delta Connection® Carriers information at delta.com

Pinnacle Airlines</STRONG>
Pinnacle Airlines will operate out of Atlanta with 16, 2-class CRJ-900s.

So what does that do to the numbers needing to "go away"?
