My question is, will there be enough pressure to pop that pimple and get this done?
I didn't know who the guy was but it sounds like it might be time for him to move on!!! The company could have saved $250,000 so far this year! What can we do to put more pressure on this guy? Why does it matter what this guy thinks if everyone else wants to sign the LOA?

Half time lines seems like a great idea. Shouldn't the union push for this hard and "pop that pimple" as you've said and get it done.

From what I understand, the union is and has been pushing for this but this one manager is blocking it. I don't know the details of everything but I know this one manager has consistently butted heads with the union. His goal has seemed for years to be a pest to the crews, not to find ways to save the company money. I have no idea why this guy is still employed. I have some personal opinions but this is certainly not the proper place to voice them.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think it's about time we get a real pilot with a real passion for flying in the management team.

Unfortunately most pilots that move into management positions forget their roots.... And this problem guy's position wouldn't be filled from a pilot anyway. He's more of an HR guy.

Ha Ha, How true that is. We've got one or two, I know the ones you are talking about. I meant someone in the top position like the CEO or VP of Ops. Even then, I think you are right, they'll probably forget about where they came from by the lure of money.

Does anyone know about how much that profit sharing check will be, and who is eligible for it?

its in the contract amendment section. If you look at your contract it is the LOA section, towards the back. I believe it states that you must have had one year of service prior to march 31st of the fiscal year in which the profit is based on. It is my understanding that one year of service in contract speak is different from one year of seniority. IF you look in the retirement section, it states that one year of service is a year in which a pilot has credited 500 hours or more. So some who may not have been on property for a full year as of March 31st 2008 may be in the mix for their share, if they have credited 500 in the previous fiscal year. Anyone with more insight hopefully you can ring in, but that is my interpretation of the contract. I dont have it officially in front of me but that is what I remember reading.

If there are any 200 FOs that have day trips or two days they don't want in June, let me know! I'm having to drop 2 days of a 4 day for family business and I need to make it up.
