I'm betting you would...why would a company pay for your training and then have u turn around and get recalled at XJ...

It is interesting though that Compass is hiring in this economy whilke Mesaba is furloughing. I wonder if Compass is gearing up for more flying in the future.

Compass is gearing up for more block hours next year, not more aircraft.
What sad is that DAL/NWA/Comair/Mesaba/Compass are the same company... and they are furloughing in one "department" and hiring in another. Comair and Mesaba pilots leaving there for Compass are resetting their seniority and pay.... management wins.

Truly pathetic part is that DAL management is only resetting the lowest paid members of the XJ. The top 200 pilots at XJ are not affected by this at all.

+1. A goodpoint. I want to see the mainline grow, not the other way around but it seems DAL is outsourcing more domestic flying in combination with 11 regionals flying for them with Alaska Airlines.

For those of you already furloughed or about to get furloughed, MSA has sent out e-mails to XJ pilots that Compass management, at the request of Compass ALPA pilot coordinator, has asked him to collect resumes since Compass is hiring and Mesaba is furloughing. Those of you interested should send in your resumes. I don't know if you have to give up your seniority number at XJ if you get accepted by Compass.
Good luck to all of you and I hope things turn around in 2010.

I wish to thank the union, the FAA, and those that benefited from being able to work the extra five years that no one else before them was able to do for delaying the career progression of everyone who is not 60 years old.
It's like changing term limits while in office so you can stay in office longer...

I know of two guys that went to compass, and both were told that they could keep their seniority # at XJ, hopefully that trend continues...
