There will probably be some consolidation among the regionals this year.

Right now it’s all about which individual airline has the deepest cash reserves.

Careful with this one. Their cash can run out owning that many airplanes real quick. SkyWest isn’t nearly the same size as it was around 2000-2001. I would not be surprised if they started to furlough for the first time ever.

That said as a WO’d pilot, there seems to be stability but that can change so fast. AA could sell off assets (aka our planes) fast and get some cash back. Idk who’d they sell to right now, but it’s still a possibility.

Still, I’d say WO, SkyWest and Republic are all the last to feel the burn from this crap. Makes me feel awful thinking how this is going to affect everyone.

Have you seen the books? P and L statements?
I’d be willing to bet their pockets aren’t as deep as you may think .

I was going to add something about them making a ton of money in the USAirways deal. You are right, I have no knowledge of their current cash situation. But if AWA still has the money from the AWAC days then they should be okay.

1) Silver
2) Air Wisconsin
3) GoJet
4) CommutAir
5) Piedmont
6) Mesa
7) Republic
8) ExpressJet
9) PSA, Envoy, Endeavor, Horizon
10) SkyWest

Did anyone predict a 100 year plague wiping out the economy? I doubt anyone is going to predict who goes out next. Maybe in a couple of months an asteroid is going to hit Earth and wipe us all out.
Let's stick to positive thoughts and hope everyone is safe and able to provide for their loved ones.

They already did, the new hire classes still in training. Only they called it “unpaid administrative leave”.

If you'd think of it more as a rational discussion, rather than have an emotionally fueled response, you may see the merit of this.

Nobody is cheering over 1,000 pilots combined on the street. But, sticking your head in the sand as to the future viability of your airline would be foolhardy. The facts don't care about your feelings, so take an honest look at your employer in this situation, your seniority, and your future. And act accordingly with the current plan, or even a plan B or C. Settle down and ride it out in the best way.

The bailouts require airlines maintain their network sizes, this is actually good news for regionals.
