Default Just when can you check the degree box?

Like many others at the regionals, I’m plugging away at my 4 year degree online and have just a few classes remaining. Of course, not a lot of career destination airlines are hiring, but it’s best certainly to update frequently especially if attaining a significant milestone....

So anyway....just when can you check the box? Is it after completing your final exam in your final course? After receiving your final grade in your last class, or not until actually in receipt of your diploma?

To play it safe I’d say the last of those 3, but of course if allowed earlier, I’d jump on it because you just never know when the phone will ring.

Thoughts?

This ^^^
Chances are small but not zero that when they check your documents you’ll be shown the door when your resume is dated in Oct and your degree in March the next year.
Why lie?

I'd say once you can order an official transcript since most applications require it.

Just about the worst thing you can do is jump the gun.

Word of advice for airline apps:

All dates exact, all numbers exact. Be as squeaky clean as possible.

In the case of degree requirements complete but diploma not in hand, I personally would let that slide, but there are some people in pilot hiring who might be more anal.

Not that it matters now,

but if you have completed everything YOU do toward the degree and you’re waiting on the school to do something, I think it is reasonable to see you have a degree.

Pax carriers of course, but there are many cargo carriers still hiring that are certainly a step up from the regionals, if not career destinations even. Granted it’s probably become much more competitive than a year ago, but it be nuts to not even try and have a 100% chance of not being called.
