Comair new hires
#21
When they hired me 6/14, I was handed a letter that basically said there are two choices for accomodations, all 100% covered by Comair. They said the furnished apartment thing is nice.
1. Single occupancy hotel - w/kitchenette type setup
2. Double occupancy 2 bedroom/2 bath fully furnished apartment incl. washer/dryer, 2 tv's w/cable & wireless internet.
#2 is definitely more attractive. It's good to have a live-in study/sim partner (as long as there's enough personal space). Double occupancy hotel rooms would definitely suck.
I have a 2006 Audi A3 that already has 35,000 miles on it. Adding another 4,000 plus local miles is a big bite. I might look in to flying out and getting a long term rental or buying a beater to get around town with.
I've stayed at hotels for extended periods before and it sucks. It get's expensive and old eating takeout EVERY day. I like to cook anyway. (BTW, ramen noodles in a coffee pot sounds as good as grilled cheese on an iron)
A couple of good friends were December new hires and they have nothing but nice things to say about Comair and are very happy. It is one of the few places where I've heard nothing negative from people I know and trust.
Yes, it's still a regional and my eyes are wide open.
Looking forward to class. 8/27 is a pretty long wait. I can't wait to meet everyone.

Ya, Im pretty excited too. I have heard a lot of good things about Comair and everyone I know there is happy (In comparison with other carriers). I put in for the apartment, got an '03 Saab 9³ to tool around in, so I think it's going to be much better than the hotel. Im really excited, it is kind of a bummer to wait for training so long, but Im just happy to be on board.

Dont worry about memory items if you were not given them directly from the Training department you will have enought time for Memory Items and Flows when you get there..
