Bornhort "resignation" was more of a promotion than an ax job. Randy R in 2005, now that was an ax job. Fast Freddy, another ax job. "...leaving to pursue other opportunities" . Yeah, right.

The only reason I think it is him stepping down is that the meeting was just announced yesterday. These things are always last minute announcements about a meeting tomorrow. When he does those stupid phone conferences and waste our time talking about FA uniforms, high oil prices, our planes going everywhere else they announce them like 10 weeks in advance. When he does the "CEO of the Cockpit" meetings they announce those way in advance too.

let me edit this..... unless of course JS is headed back to a post with American on his own accord. I assume getting rid of a company is pretty easy and almost anyone can do it.

Yup. The SOCC is already down quite a few bodies due to the reduction in flying. My guess is that the "right sizing" will continue unabated until the cost savings reach 100%.
Today is the resignation of JS.
I have heard 2 possibilities:
CEO of Mesaba will replace JS, just the previous announcements indicated (combining upper level staff, but not merge)
DS will replace JS.
