Comair updates?
I would venture to say a merging of the internal operations (Dispatch, Scheduling, etc) of each regional would be more likely. Integration of the pilot groups takes lots of time with negotiations. However, non-union groups like anyone in the SOCC could be reduced to a more appropriate level first to take advantage of the immediate associated cost savings.

I doubt a merge of the pilot groups would happen this soon.

If they merger the internal operations, ALPA can push for a single carrier petition. I dont know if they will but they should!!

ALPA right now is shivering in their boots thinking about the thought of merging Mesaba, Compass and Comair. Can you imagine the merger of the seniority list and the trouble that would cause.
How would you like to be an 8 year Comair FO and have to sit next to a two year Compass or Mesaba Captain.
I don't think it will ever happen, but I have been wrong before.
I agree with the previous poster that said this meeting might be about something other than JS getting axed. The last time I was at a meeting in the Cafe was when Fred announced the Bankruptcy. I don't think they would have company wide meetings to tell us that JS is gone.
Not that I know the answer or anything...just sayin'. I guess we'll all know in about 2 hours.

From Epic:
Comair's annual enrollment for benefits closes at midnight Wednesday, November 19. Please visit www.comairscroossyou.com to make your elections.
If you do not make changes by the annual enrollment deadline, your current elections - with the exception of FSAs will continue for 2008.
Attached is the previously sent memorandum from Jxx Rxxxx, director of Corporate Compensation and Benefits, with the complete details around annual enrollment.
Employees may contact the Benefits team by phone at (859) 767-xxxx or via e-mail at [email protected] with any questions.
Thank you,
Corporate Communications
That's odd. If we make no changes our coverage will remain the same for 2008.
I guess we get squat for 2009, right?

Any time there is a yearly notice put out (vacation bidding is always a good one) it is obvious they just pull up the letter from last year and change some, but not all, of the dates and redistribute it. Always seems to make it a mess.
No prob p1ayn... just thought I'd help fill the gap since ftrpilot isn't around to weigh in on these kind of issues.

Bornhort "resignation" was more of a promotion than an ax job. Randy R in 2005, now that was an ax job. Fast Freddy, another ax job. "...leaving to pursue other opportunities" . Yeah, right.

The only reason I think it is him stepping down is that the meeting was just announced yesterday. These things are always last minute announcements about a meeting tomorrow. When he does those stupid phone conferences and waste our time talking about FA uniforms, high oil prices, our planes going everywhere else they announce them like 10 weeks in advance. When he does the "CEO of the Cockpit" meetings they announce those way in advance too.
