I flew with him the other day, he had a couple questions about the reserve system. He sounded happy to be back. January is a slow month for flying generally, so at least he isn't sitting reserve in the middle of the summer.

FA timed out. We had a MX thing just as we were about to push from the gate on the way to COS that held us up (we were already running late due to a last second captain change, not sure what happened there). When we got to COS, the FA told us she didn't think she was legal to do the return...Scheduling confirmed this and we ferried back, despite my pleading to hang out in Colorado Springs. It was a shame( and probably preventable), I heard the paxs in COS got really really upset and wanted to riot at the gate.

Eh, that sucks. That sure is an unfortunate time/place to figure out that you're timed out. Yeah, pax tend to get irate when a flight gets delayed and delayed and delayed (while the pax miss reroute opportunities) then cancels. Something we had to deal with in the tower constantly.

I just checked my e-mail on Epic. I looked at the Comair career opportunities e-mail. We are not looking for Pilots or Flight Attendants. It always includes Pilots and Flight Attendants. I wonder what is going on.

Look at the bid packets that just came out. The training outlook in basically empty. 2 classes of 4 pilots each in Feb. So basically we loose 30 pilots a month on average and they are replacing them with 8 next month. I guess attrition will take care of the big reduction in flying we are supposed to get in the spring.
