First off, they aren't going to put pilots back online because we are canceling flights. Their goal is to cancel flights, which is why the schedule keeps getting smaller. They have clearly thought this out and I'm sure they are well aware that by furloughing pilots, during the transition we will be understaffed.

As far as the new MEC goes, I am not a GO ALPA guy, but I think he will do a much better job than the last MEC. ML has fought for me twice and I was pleased with his work and professionalism both times. He has a backbone and I think he will keep everyone in the picture, not just the guys at the top.

Freaking depressing in JFK today. Guys keep coming in with all their manuals and stuff. Only problem is no one is here to accept them. They cant even have someone here to say thanks im sorry your gone. Instead all the guys are just leaving them next to D.A. door. What a joke.

they have to make sure they get a receipt for all that stuff, otherwise, and you know how some organizations can be, well Mr/Ms. we did not receive those items, where is your receipt?. You will be getting a bill in the mail, thank you for playing.

If they want to hear someone say "sorry you're gone" they can listen to the VARS, Item number 1.

I'm looking for some 2" Jepp Binders so if anyone has surrendered their charts still in the binders let me know and we'll work out a finder's fee for you.

I know of a person furloguhed on Nov who still has the ID. Not a word has been said to this person. I think G.O. so short and overworked, they have no clue what they are missing.

I have a buddy that was furloughed in 2005 (or thereabouts) that still has HIS manuals. I'm curious as to what the bill would be for not turning them in. As I am a commuter, might it be cheaper for me to pay the bill rather than spending a day of my time returning them or even shipping them?

Does anyone think that if enough people will take the buyout that Comair might recall a few guys?

I plan on taking the buyout, but I don't think that will cause recalls any sooner. If anything I think it will just prevent them from having to furlough as much as they currently have in the forecast. I think it is pretty obvious that they plan to shrink this place. That 800 number that was being thrown about doesn't seem far off. Most analyst are now saying that they believe we still haven't hit bottom with the current market. Until that happens I don't think any of the airlines will be growing.
