Comair updates?
Hey here is a plan........screw Delta! Yeh sorry but I don't give a rats *** about using the APU or Single engine taxi. Why? Has it done ONE thing to give me more money or save a fellow pilots job? F U Delta! If you want to burn Comair to the ground I will do my best to take Delta with me!!!!!!!!!!!
After carefully evaluating both scenarios, it looks like either way, you lose. Therefore, I'd rather take my chances with doing what Delta asks (as far as fuel savings, etc.) over the alternative. Oh, and this is coming from someone that's out of a job in January.
I don't know about you guys but for once i'm glad its not negative news. The first semi-positive announcement in 6 months or more (not really a plus considering we have people on the street but i was for sure the memo from delta meant more cuts.)
It must be because of our 100% Completion day today.
After talking with the new guy one on one, I actually believe him. So now the question is which DCI carrier is gonna get hit with these reductions? I think they'll be coming after ASA and Skywest this time.
How long until JetJock shows up to say that SKW has an iron-clad contract with Delta and it would cost Delta hundreds of millions to even think of changing the deal?
Reminds me of Episode V when Boba Fett watches Lando get scrood by Vader again and again, and Fett saying to himself "Good thing I had Lord Vader put our deal in writing..."

I have been hearing that Delta is willing to forgo receiving their last payment for ASA's sale in order to decrase capacity at SkyWest and ASA and allows them to get rid of a lot of the 50 seaters that are owned by Delta.
There will be lots of details about where things are heading, that will be coming out on the 9th from the Delta Shareholders meeting.

Then again, it's quite possible Delta is not disclosing every detail of this latest cut, to keep a somewhat steady operation going at Comair through the holiday season.

Just listened to that memo. Sounds like the new president is trying to send out a thank you during his first address to his employees while also trying to keep people from jumping ship. Kind of expected this though. He wouldn't come out during his first message and tell everyone that he doesn't see good things for us on the horizon. Talked to RP the other day in regards to the memo that was put out about staffing. He didn't really say when we would settle to the magic number, but he said it was around 1054 pilots. 390 CRJ CAs, 365 CRJ FOs, 153 CR7 CAs and 146 CR7 FOs. That is the total number of pilots on the seniority list including anyone on leave. I see this economy getting worse before it gets any better, so the real question is if 6 year FOs and 10 Year CAs feel like being the bottom of the barrel for the next year or so until the world catches it's breathe.

CVG may still have plenty of block hours, just not Comair in CVG. Nowdays you've got Freedom, Pinnacle, ASA, and CHQ with enough Cincy flying to have pilot bases here (not official bases, but should be). Plus SKW doing the salt-in-the-wound trips (CVG-ATL, CVG-MSP, etc).
Back in the day 35,000 Cincy hours meant 35,000 Comair hours, but I guess Delta saw the error of that in 2001.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I remember when ACA started flying the 328's in there, I knew things were going to go downhill.
