Fast Freddy promised us 170s. It was Unca Don that promised us the 900s. Twice.

Comair's trend is to announce growth, wait two weeks, then announce that the "growth number" actually has a minus (-) sign on it.

3825 Delta. That is all.

(Edit: looks like Bubba beat me to it)

Other Aesop Fables that apply to the Delta/Comair fairy tale...
  • The Goose That Laid Golden Eggs
  • The Old Man and Death
  • The Old Woman and the Wine Bottle
  • The bundle of Sticks

Default Rest Rules

Probably not directly related to the latest bid but has the OH ALPA looked at the effect of the proposed changes to rest rules?? Some at Big D think they will need almost 10% more pilots. As I recall (I left OH a few years ago) OH ran things legal but tight.

If the majors need to boost their numbers the flow might start again - at least for their initial plus up.

I would not worry about a Comair recall. Soon airlines like Eagle, TSA, RAH, SkyWest, ASA, and others will start hiring. It will not take 10 years to upgrade to a Captain. Forget about Comair recalling. Even if it happens, why would you want to be on reserve in a crash pad a JFK for the next 3 years and be an FO making less than $45,000 for the next 10 years?

To the guys that are starting recall rumors, please stop.
My intention was not to start a recall rumor, if you noticed, it was cut/paste off of epic.

Sorry GrUpGrDn, I was not talking about you spreading rumors. I’m talking to the guys that are talking recall; it’s not going to happen.

We could fill in a little bit by utilizing the aircraft more and not have any spares. Might need a few pilots to return to beef up reserves. Of course this is all speculation and we know DCI's track record when it comes to Freedom flying or aircraft!
Bubba, you have a valid point regarding reserve. The company is having a tough time figuring out Long Call reserve and being in compliance with the FAR related to 24 hours free from duty in 7 consecutive days.

P.S. Mesa will survive longer than Comair.
